Effective date 2026.10.03
- 2026.10.03 (current)
We process refunds in accordance with applicable law and this Policy where there is a problem with a product you purchased or where you wish to withdraw your purchase.
This Policy explains the period and method for requesting a refund, the grounds on which a refund is available and the cases in which it is not, and the circumstances in which the right of withdrawal is limited. Once the license key has been activated and you have started to use the Software, the right to withdraw on the basis of a change of mind may be extinguished.
1. Refund Period
Refund requests and statutory withdrawal rights are received and reviewed through Alphasov support in accordance with this Refund Policy and applicable consumer protection laws. Alphasov accepts and reviews refund requests submitted within 14 days of the lifetime license purchase date. For monthly subscriptions, refund requests may be submitted within 14 days of the initial billing date. Renewal charges are reviewed separately where required by applicable law or where there is a valid reason such as duplicate payment, license activation failure, or a material defect.
However, under Article 17(2)(5) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. and Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, once the license key has been activated and you have started to use the Software, the right to withdraw on the basis of a change of mind may be extinguished. Exceptions apply where a refund or withdrawal right is required by applicable law, or where any of the eligible reasons under Article 5 applies. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval.
2. How to Request a Refund
Please request a refund using one of the methods below.
- Email: support@alphasov.com
- Information to include with your refund request: Order ID or license key, the email address used for purchase, and the reason for the refund.
3. Refund Processing
Where a refund request is approved, we will initiate refund processing within 3 business days under Article 18(2) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. and other applicable laws. Approved refunds are processed through FastSpring, the Merchant of Record, to the original payment method where possible. The time required for the refunded amount to be completed may vary depending on the processing procedures of FastSpring and the payment method (card issuer, bank, PayPal, etc.). Once the refund is completed, the corresponding license will be deactivated.
We may request your order ID, purchase receipt, description of the issue, or the minimum necessary technical information to review the refund.
Where we are responsible for a delay in refund under applicable law, delay damages under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. and its Enforcement Decree may apply.
4. Monthly Subscription Cancellation and Auto-Renewal
Monthly subscriptions auto-renew. To cancel, please cancel before the next billing date. Even after cancellation, you can continue using the subscription normally until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation alone does not result in a refund of the fee already paid for the current billing period. A refund is available only where required by applicable law or where the situation qualifies under this Refund Policy.
Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled before the next renewal billing date by contacting support@alphasov.com or through the FastSpring account management page (linked in your order receipt).
5. Eligible Refund Reasons
- The Software has a critical defect that makes normal use impossible, and we have not resolved it within a reasonable period
- Duplicate purchase of the same product by mistake
- License activation is impossible due to technical issues
- The Software is provided in a manner significantly different from how it was described, advertised, or contracted (in this case, under Article 17(3) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc., a refund may be requested within 30 days from the date of becoming aware (or being able to become aware) of the discrepancy, and within 3 months from the date of supply)
- Renewal charges that occurred after the subscription was successfully cancelled
6. Non-Refundable Cases
- More than 14 days have passed since purchase
- The account or license has been restricted, suspended, or deactivated due to a violation of the Terms of Service or the End User License Agreement (e.g., unauthorized sharing, resale, transfer, circumvention, abnormal use, or piracy-related activity)
- A refund is requested on the basis of a change of mind after the license key has been activated and use of the Software has started (see the proviso to Article 1 of this Refund Policy)
- Dissatisfaction resulting from failure to review the product description, edition differences, system requirements, usage limitations, or disclosed feature scope before purchase
- Temporary compatibility issues or feature limitations arising from changes to third-party platforms such as YouTube, including changes to policies, services, APIs, web structures, access methods, content availability, or technical specifications
- A refund is requested due to a technical issue, but the user refuses to provide reasonably necessary information (order ID, error screenshots, logs, reproduction details, etc.) or to cooperate with Alphasov's support process for diagnosing or resolving the issue
- The user has lost access to a third-party platform account, channel, content, or API, or where content has been deleted, made private, restricted, or otherwise made unavailable, resulting in limited use of the Software
- Requests for refund or price adjustment based on regional price differences, exchange-rate changes, promotions, discounts, or price changes after purchase
7. Dispute Resolution
Refund-related disputes are first addressed through support@alphasov.com. If a resolution cannot be reached through consultation, the matter will be handled in accordance with the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc., the Framework Act on Consumers, and other applicable consumer protection laws. However, where a chargeback or payment dispute is determined to involve duplicate refunds, misuse, false claims, or other fraudulent or abusive conduct, we may restrict the license or access to the service in accordance with applicable law and this Refund Policy. In addition, matters involving chargebacks, PayPal disputes, suspected fraud, high-risk transactions, or payment method limitations may be handled in accordance with the policies and procedures of FastSpring, the Merchant of Record.
