What is Sovereign Key™?

Sovereign Key™ is the key that activates the HyperSync™ Engine in the MASTER edition. Once you register an API key created in the Google Cloud Console and restricted to the YouTube Data API v3 as your Sovereign Key™, the HyperSync™ Engine is activated and channel analysis speed improves dramatically. The key is stored locally on the user's PC and is not transmitted to Alphasov's servers. However, it is used to communicate with Google/YouTube API servers when processing YouTube Data API requests initiated by the user.

Step by Step

How to Create and Register

Open Google Cloud Console

Go to Google Cloud Console (https:⁠//console.cloud.google.com/), sign in with your Google account, and accept the terms.

Create a New Project

Create a new project. You can freely choose the project name.

Enable YouTube Data API v3

Open the API Library (https:⁠//console.cloud.google.com/apis⁠/library) and enable YouTube Data API v3.

Create an API Key

Create an API key from the Credentials menu. Restrict it to YouTube Data API v3 to harden the key's security.

Security note: Do not share your API key with anyone. You can delete or regenerate the key at any time from Google Cloud Console.

Register in the Program

Register the key you created in VideoAlpha Sovereign MASTER under Settings → General Settings → Advanced. The HyperSync™ Engine activates immediately upon registration.

Good to Know

Daily API quota

The YouTube Data API works on a daily quota. VideoAlpha Sovereign uses that quota efficiently for channel analysis, and when the quota is used up it switches to the default engine automatically. The daily quota is reset the next day.

Security

The registered key is stored locally on the user's PC and is not transmitted to Alphasov's servers. However, it is used to communicate with Google/YouTube API servers when processing YouTube Data API requests initiated by the user.

Changing the Key

You can change or remove the key at any time from program settings.

Works Without It

The program works normally without Sovereign Key™. However, the HyperSync™ Engine, list-only saving, backup start-date filtering, and a few other advanced features are unavailable.
